About Pyer Moss – Pyer Moss offers ready-to-wear menswear and womenswear collections available online at high-end boutiques worldwide. It was founded upon its aims to use its voice and platform to challenge social narratives and evoke dialogue. Pyer Moss uses collaboration with artists and brands as a medium to further the dialogue around their seasonal themes.
The Work – Inspired by the upbringing of founder Kerby Jean-Raymond and Pyer Moss' Collection 2 Runway Show held at the historical Weeksville Heritage Center in Brownsville, Brooklyn, Konigbagbe commissioned Julian “Director X“ Lutz to write and direct a biographical short film entitled ”SEVEN MOTHERS”. Shot in Brooklyn, cast with primarily first-time actors and costumed entirely with Pyer Moss' Collection 2 — a collection that focuses on the complexities of the modern black family, community, and celebration of women; SEVEN MOTHERS is a continuation of the biographical artistic rhetoric Konigbagbe helped established at the black-owned New York-based fashion brand. In 2019, SEVEN MOTHERS won a Clio Award for Outstanding Short Film in Fashion & Beauty.
