About BLACK EYE – BLACK EYE, a blue-chip, multi-generational exhibition focused on the shifting dynamics of race over the previous 20 years was curated by Nicola Vassell.
The Work – For BLACK EYE, Konigbagbe was mandated to design and develop; the exhibition’s robust visual brand system alongside art director Andreas Neophytou, production design elements, marketing collateral, erect a city-wide wheatpaste campaign and co-produce an artist interview series entitled FOCUS.
Directed by Chilean-American filmmaker Danilo Parra, the FOCUS interview series explores the human experiences and artistic practices of three BLAC exhibiting artists; Hank Willis Thomas, Wangechi Mutu & Jacolby Satterwhite. Through the eyes of these powerful and subversive artists we created a series of films interpreting the topic of vision and perspective.
